Tips: Work with Natural Light

Special Issue: Work with Natural Light for Interior Photography.

Anda perlu merasakan situasinya sebelum anda mulai memegang photography equipment anda.

Old tips: Di situasi normal (bright day), exposure rata-rata biasanya di set ke f/8 1/4 detik.

Selamat Mencoba.

nikkor 50mm f/1.8D

nikkor 50mm f/1.8D

I just too much enjoy to play with f/1.8 lens, when try it on canon body and lens. With this lens its easier for me to create a fine art photography on extremely low light. now i love oil candle lamp and candle light. it’s give an extra ordinary effect into the image. Please refer to my kecak dance shot on my flickr account.

This afternoon, i want to buy a 50mm f/1.4 lens for better result for easter night mass celebration in the church. but, the camera store in denpasar did not provide it. i found two shops sell 50mm f/1.8 with damn crazy price range. jpckemang.com sell this lens for only 950,ooo rupiah. but f*** professional photo at jalan diponegoro denpasar sell it for 1,950,ooo!!! one million extra. damn! i can not believe it. this shop is not recommended for any lens and camera accessories.

i try to find other shop, and found prodigital sell it for 1,500,ooo. No other shop sell it (in ready stock). I need it for tonight. So, “Ok..”, i think this is better price, even i know that the price is should be 500,ooo rupiah lower. When waiting for remote buying which need times, my event will gone outdate. Then, as usual, open the wallet, take out the credit card, close eyes, and sign. I got my new toy.

I make some test at home. with some object. I think its useful. especially its work nice for portrait shot.

Then the event time is coming. 8pm the easter mass begin. no light at the church buiding turned on, except the light from the candle. set ISO max to 1600 (on my D70). Yes, it’s noise, no problem, and forget it – this is a test. I just imagine that I use D300 soon with ISO could be set max to 6400! I could be a master with this equipment… Then i am realizing that it is still a dream. Ugh!

Ok, the result of nikkor 50mm f/1.8 is quit nice. I love this mini lens. I think this lens, will be my other must-bring lens when go outing. check my flickr for the result.

My photo portfolio launched

To answer the most questions i heard from my guest and prospect about “where is your photo portfolio, do you bring it with you?”. Atau “do you have a portfolio i can review?”.

Some months ago, i usually answer it with uncommon phrases. “Please open height-ti-ti-pi-double-dot-double-slash-flickr-dot-com-slash-photos-slash-ai-em-pi-works-
with-s-at-the-end
and you can choose the appropriate collection”. Ugh…. cape de.

now, its easy for me to guide the client to my photo portfolio. just type my name on your screen (i mean, type winartho.com on your browser url address.)

There are many more photos will be added to the gallery. I just need more time to make it up. Enjoy your visit.

hunting Upacara Melasti 4/3/08

melasti day

tunggu punya tunggu… eh siangnya malah pakai gerimis segala. i am so sad.

akhirnya sore-sore ada juga telepon dari teman ngajakin hunting ke pantai. kupikir, ada yang ngajakin nekat nih. padahal cuaca masih gerimis kecil gitu deh…. ya udah, karena rame-rame, ya go wae. kanggoang, canggu destination terdekat. jadi inget jadul beberapa tahun lalu, aku selalu hunting melasti sendirian. jadi kayak toris sendirian nenteng kamera.

reportase hunting billiard & bowling photo minggu 2/3/08
